Correction - Lola x 5

You know how I had mentioned about a week ago that my daughter is expecting again?

Well I am expecting two grandbabies now.  Not because she's having twins but because my son informed me he and his girlfriend are expecting too.

I was a little surprised when I learned there might be a possibility a couple weeks ago.  He told his sister and he should know his sisters can't keep secrets and she told me. Of course she prefaced it with "Mom.  You can't tell Jim I told you but ...."

The news has now been confirmed and although he has no idea that I already knew (yet), he shared the news with me yesterday shortly after his girlfriend confirmed the news to him.

My only concern was that he's happy with the unexpected surprise which he is and seems to be ready to embrace an upcoming role as a parent.

My Good Morning Smiles

I love waking up to these two grand-babies, even if it means being greeted with morning spit-up. I love, love, LOVE them!

Trick or Treating With the Grandkids

Kaison as the fearless Batman! He was going to be Bam Bam to go with the Flinstones theme with his baby sister but it was too cold.

Pole Fitness 101

I’m excited.  I’ve just registered in a couple of unique fitness classes.  I love music and I love to dance (just don’t ask me to sing) and I’ve always had an interest in taking a pole fitness class.  So, I am!   What better way to get a workout doing something fun that includes two things I enjoy?

My thoughts exactly!

The Pole Fitness 101 is a workshop and the other is a weekly class. I figured I’d test the waters and if I enjoy them enough I’ll enroll in a membership with the fitness studio.  They have other classes that have piqued my interest too.

Being middle-aged, I’m sure that some people may think I’m off my rocker.

To you, kiss my pole.

But the mere fact is, I’ve had silent interests for most of my adult life. For example, the Boudoir Photography and Pole Fitness are a couple that I’ve never shared with anyone, let alone even thinking of acting on them until recent.  In the past I've made a point to keep those things to myself partly because I felt there would be criticism, judgment, and/or disapproval.  Also, being a young mother and raising children, it just didn’t seem appropriate at the time in trying to be good example for them especially given some of the values I was raised with. You know, it wasn't the "right" thing to do.

Now, I say “Why not?”.  I’m grown.  They’re all adult children with the exception of my 17 year old.   And hey, I’m not getting any younger so I may as well do it now before the aches and pains of getting old kick in.

Go me!

1 Lola, 2 Lola, 3 Lola ... 4!

Speaking of the little bit o'sunshine mentioned in my post this morning ... Earlier today just before lunch, I'm sitting at my desk and my cellphone rings. I see it's my daughter who lives in Canada, I pick it up and place it to my ear:

Me: Yeeees?
Her: Hey Momsk, whatcha doing?
Me: I'm at work, working.  Why, what are you doing?
Her: Oh, nothing.  But guess what?
Me: You're pregnant, aren't you?
Her: *insert excited giggle here* Yes! I took a pregnancy test and there are two lines, the second one is light but I'm going to take another one in the morning again but the second line has even gotten darker now! I haven't even called Marc yet. I called you first. Mom! You're going to have another grandchild, #4! You're going to be a Lola again! *insert more shocked, excited giggles and laughter here*
Me: *smiling and thinking "Dang, breathe girl"*

So, to make a short story even shorter, unofficially as of right now it looks like I'll be expecting grandbaby #4 in about 8 1/2 months. This will be her second.  This wasn't an "accident", baby #2 was planned just as her first child. They started putting their plan into action for baby #2 about a month ago.

I've tried to brainwash my kids by saying, "Two each, then you're done".

So, that means two of them have already met their quota. Yeah, yeah I know.  It's wishful thinking.

Note: Just in case you're wondering about the title of this post.  I'm called "Lola" by  my grandkids rather than the usual traditional grandmother names.

A Little Bit O' Sunshine in the Morning

I love when I am able to Skype with this little guy as I'm getting ready in the morning for work.

I love seeing him look at the monitor, smiling when he sees me, having almost his entire face fill the screen as he's saying "Loh-Lah".  I love those big brown eyes and his little toothy smile.

His mom (my daughter) will tell him "Give Lola a kiss". He'll lean toward the monitor and I can hear a little smooch sound as he gives me a kiss.  lol, he'll also try and feed me snacks or food.  He'll hold it out towards the monitor for me to eat and I lean in like I'm taking the bite he's offering, make yum yum sounds and tell him "Thank you" and he'll just smile like I ate it while he puts the same bite into his mouth.

My daughter, son-in-law and grandson live in Canada so it's really hard not seeing him in the context that most grandparents are able to see their grandchildren.  I see him on Skype weekly at minimum but seeing him on the computer is not the same as smothering those chubby little cheeks with smooches, being able to sit in the floor and play with him, chase him around the house, take him to play at the park, sit and read him a favorite book, or even just rocking and holding him.

I'm really close to my children and being just as close or even closer to my grandchildren is very important to me.

Plus, grandkids are easier to spoil when they're in close proximity.

Boudoir Photography

I've always been intrigued with this type of photography.  I've looked at many examples and techniques of various photographers ranging from styles that include sexy and glamorous to pin-up to some that are actually quite artistic, tasteful, and sensual.

I'd love to be the subject of a boudoir photography session .  That's saying bookoos about how much it has me intrigued because typically I don't like to be on the capturing side of a lens.

Some examples below and I tried to keep them tame.

FYI - A New Blog

I've created a new blog specifically for my tummy tuck surgery so I've transferred all the previous TT blogs over to this blog site - Surgically Revised - My Cosmetic Journey If you'd like to keep up with the recovery process, this is where I'll be posting pictures or updates.  I thought it might be more organized this way.

Just a random pic below taken by my daughter at the bowling alley a couple weeks ago.  After her taking several pics of the top of my head while I read, I figured I'd let her get a better shot and pose for her.
